Yvonne Elaine (Morell) Scott

Yvonne Elaine Scott, 89, passed away on June 25, 2024. She was born November 30, 1934 the last of nine children born to Stanley and Helen (Miller) Morell. Yvonne graduated in 1953 from Deckerville High School. Yvonne went to Detroit soon after where she attended Dorsey Business School. After graduation she was employed at US Rubber Company. Yvonne married the love of her life Lyle Scott on May 14, 1955. When the two began starting their family, Yvonne put her career on hold to be a mom, and only went back to work when the youngest was in school all day. She worked as a Paraprofessional/Title 1 Aid at Jefferson Elementary. Yvonne enjoyed doing crafts, going antiquing and to garage sales. She was an amazing Brazilian embroiderer. She wintered in Golden Valley, Arizona for many years, finally retiring to Higgins Lake, Michigan. Yvonne is survived by her three children: Bradley (Melissa) Scott of Waterford, Cheryl Scott Manetta of Fairgrove, and Gregory (Lisa) Scott of Westland. Her grandchildren: Shelby (Andrei) Bali, Randall Manetta, Rebecca Manetta, Jeffrey Manetta, Kaily (Jalen Manning) Scott, Timothy (Ann Burch) Manetta, and James Manetta. Her great grandchildren: Kensley Manning, Ashton and Austin Burch, Liam Manetta, and Ronan Manetta, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Helen Morell; her siblings: Stanley Jr. Morell, Raymond Morell, Fred (Louise) Morell, Clemmens (Tim) Morell, Isabella Ruth-Cutwright, Louis Morell, Ronald Morell, Donald (Sandra) Morell; in-laws: Leola Mae, Robert (Doris) Scott, Mervin (Oletta) Scott, Kenneth (Catherine) Scott, and Carl (Lucy) Scott. A funeral service will take place at 11am on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Coats Funeral Home – Clarkston. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 1-6pm and again one hour prior to the service on Monday, beginning at 10am. Interment at St. Joseph and St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery in Ubly, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jolene’s Country Home where Yvonne spent the last three years of her life surround by beautiful scenery, dogs Braxton and Savannah and her caregivers Joe and Marlene. The family sincerely appreciates the love, care, and compassion that she received during this time.
