William Watkins Obituary

WATKINS, WILLIAM T. “BILL” of Davisburg, passed away March 19, 2025 at 76 years of age. Loving husband of Christine (née Carter) for 42 years; dear father of Billy (Jessica) Watkins and Whitney (Jake) Kemerer; grandfather of Billy, Reagan, Cohen, Jude, and Crosby; brother of the late James (Jan) Watkins. Bill was born in Youngstown, Ohio to loving parents, James and Jayne (née Parry) Watkins and was a 1966 graduate of Canfield High School. He attended Ohio University in Athens and earned a bachelor’s degree in business.  On the day he bought a 33 foot Trojan wooden power boat he met the love of his life in a pizza parlor in Chicago. Bill was a medical instrument salesman, a job he loved for 35 years. A great sense of humor, he maintained his love of boats and boating. He was also a collector of standard gauge trains and a member of the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, home of the Pere Marquette 1225, the largest steam locomotive ever used in Michigan. On land, he enjoyed classic cars, restoring a 1953 MG TD. He will be fondly remembered as an avid Ohio State football fan with a quick wit and a deep love for his family that will be forever and always missed. Family will receive friends Monday, March 24, 2025 at 3 PM-7 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON, 8909 Dixie Hwy. A private burial will be held at Davisburg Cemetery, Davisburg. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at The Ridge of Clarkston for the wonderful care they provided Bill for the past year.
