Dr. William Lee (Bill) Wallis, 79, of Clarkston, Michigan passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, after a brief illness.
William was born on September 12, 1946, in Pontiac, Michigan, to the late Olis and Opal (Puett) Wallis. A proud graduate of Pontiac Central High School, William's intellectual journey continued as he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oakland University. He furthered his education in Germany for a year before returning to the U.S., where he received a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Southern California. After graduating, he joined the faculty of California State University, Northridge (CSUN), dedicating his career to teaching as a professor of political science.
Upon his retirement, William returned to Michigan, where he spent his final years surrounded by the familiar landscapes of his youth. He will be remembered by his colleagues, students, and family for his intellectual curiosity and a sharp wit that could make any conversation engaging.
He is survived by his brothers, Richard (Judy) and Jim Wallis; a special niece Lora Cook, numerous nephews and nieces. William was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sylvia Jean Sigler-Warren.
