Vinson "Vinny" J. Cherry

Vinson “Vinny” J. Cherry passed away October 13, 2024, at 61 years of age. Survived by his loving brother Denny (Alice); and devoted uncle of Korynn and Gwynn.  Vinny graduated from Oxford High School in 1981. He was honorably discharged from U.S. Army service in 1984 after serving as a Pershing Missile Specialist.  

He enjoyed Tigers games, his bowling league, volunteer work with the Detroit Grand Prix races, Thanksgiving Day Parades, and spending his time with friends and family. Vinny was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed attending demolition derbies. He will forever be remembered as a loving brother, uncle, and friend. 

Vinny was employed by Hungry Howie's Distributing for over 20 years in various capacities. He had a CDL and occasionally drove over the road. 

A celebration of his life will be at Coats Funeral Home, 3141 Sashabaw Road, Waterford, MI 48329 on October 20, 2024, with visitation from 2pm to 6pm with no formal services. A private interment is scheduled at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
