Thelma Lois (Clark) Sullivan

SULLIVAN, THELMA L., of Troy, Michigan, formerly of Mississippi, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 27, 2026, at 91 years of age, surrounded by her loving family. Thelma was the beloved wife and best friend of the late Opal Sullivan; cherished mother of Don (Annette) Sullivan; loving grandmother of Danette (David), Dianna, and Angela (Glenn); and proud great-grandmother of Avery, Abigail, Paisley, Emmy, Zachariah, Hudson, and Maybelle. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert W. Clark “R.W.,” Tilton Clark, Annie Matt Eaves, Estail Richardson, and Lizzie White. 

Born and raised in Mississippi, Thelma married the love of her life, Opal, and together they made Michigan their home, where they raised their son and built a life centered on faith and family. The greatest treasure in Thelma’s life was her relationship with Jesus Christ. Her faith was evident in the kindness, compassion, and grace she showed to everyone she met. Thelma had a gift for making others feel welcome. Her home was always open, and no one ever left hungry. She found great joy in caring for others and making them feel loved. 

She also enjoyed beautiful purses, shoes, and anything with a little sparkle. Her style reflected the cheerful spirit she carried throughout her life. Thelma loved to laugh, and her laughter was contagious. If she laughed, everyone around her laughed too. That joyful sound will remain forever in the hearts and memories of those who loved her. Above all, Thelma treasured her family and friends. She made people feel valued, remembered, and deeply loved. 

Thelma leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, generosity, hospitality, joy, and unconditional love. Though she will be deeply missed, her loved ones rejoice in knowing she has been welcomed into the presence of the Savior she faithfully loved and served throughout her life.
