Teresa Ann Garcia was born in Pontiac, MI on March 20, 1955 and unexpectedly died in Waterford, MI on June 4, 2025 while gardening, one of her many passions in this life. Teresa will be remembered not only as a strong, fierce woman that was ahead of her time, but also as a dedicated wife, mother, sister, daughter, Oma, nurse for 47 years, educator for 27 years, mentor, friend, and lifetime Detroit Lions and Michigan fan (and so much more). She was not afraid to speak her mind and could be a real hard-ass sometimes, but Teresa was the first person to step up and help anyone in need. Between traveling to Africa on a medical mission, volunteering in her community, and raising a family, Teresa lived her life to the fullest and touched lives near and far. Her legacy lives on through: her Husband Leo, Son Mark (Melissa), Daughter Katherine, Granddaughter Hazel, her beloved cat Lexi, Sisters Lynette (Ray), Shelly, Carri, Brother Laine (Debbie), Mother Suzanne, Nephews Ben, Zach, Chris, Scott, Austin, Mike, Evan, and a multitude of extended family and friends who will never forget her. A memorial tailgate to celebrate this amazing woman will be held at Hess-Hathaway Park Pavilion 1 on July 27, 2025 from 12:00-4:00 PM. Please wear your favorite Detroit or Michigan sports team apparel!
