Teddie Alvin Johnson

JOHNSON, TEDDIE ALVIN, age 88 of Waterford, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023. He was born on May 13, 1935 in Pontiac, Michigan to parents Homer and Evelyn (Denham) Johnson. Ted loved spending time outdoors whether it was sightseeing or driving just to drive. He was an avid hunter and he never missed a hunting season in 75 years. Ted enjoyed socializing with friends and playing shuffleboard. He will be remembered for his stubbornness and his big heart. Ted is survived by his children: Vera (John) Watchpocket, Raymond Johnson, Tracy Patton, and Gary (Carol “CJ” Caples) Johnson; grandchildren: Johnny Watchpocket, Michael Patton, Airica Handa, Samantha Potulsky, Corey Johnson, Jessica (Cody) Bauer, and Jeremy Patton-Schleben; great grandchildren: Nicholas Handa, Benjamin Handa, Damon Bauer, and Liliana Bauer brother, Marvin  (Beth) Johnson; brother-in-law, Larry Nixon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents; wife, Leora Johnson; girlfriend, Edna; son, Teddie Johnson, Jr.; siblings: Betty Hunt, Bobby Johnson, Jerry Johnson, and Judy Nixon. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, September 22, 2023 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10am. Interment at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Michigan. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to one of Ted’s favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
