Shirley Ann Wcisel, of Clarkston, passed away on September 7, 2025 at the age of 83 years. Shirley was born on May 24, 1942 in Pontiac to the late Wilbert and Hazel (nee Everling) Hopper. She attended Pontiac Central High School. Shirley married Leo J. Wcisel on November 28, 1964; becoming the heart of her big, beautiful family of eight. A gifted cook and baker, renowned for her potato salad and peanut butter cookies, she was the glue holding her family together.
Whether spending time at Higgins Lake or three weeks each year for twenty-six years in Aruba, Shirley embraced life's adventures and made many cherished friendships while doing so.
The years caring for her family prepared her to serve as president of Wcisel & Wcisel Asphalt Paving, a company she helped build with dedication and hard work.
Her greatest joy, however, came from the deep love she shared with her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 61 years, Leo Wcisel, and their beloved children: Dan (Renee) Wcisel, Jeff Wcisel, Sandi (Jim) Luckhardt, Linda (Tim Whippo) Wcisel, and Mark (Paulette) Wcisel. She was a proud and loving grandmother to: Logan (Corinne) Tigner, Paige (Jordon) Pierce, Amber Wcisel, Kristen (Jason) Pursley, Caitlin (Rick) Chalmers, Meagan Masterson, Nicole Healey, Crystal (Eric Foster) Short, Jessica (Ben Jett) Short, Elliott Wcisel and Devan Wcisel. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Marlo Jo, Cecilia, Paxton, Serena, Ryan, Austin, Breslyn, Luke, Logan, Harvest, Leo, Andrew, Haylee, Edison and Estelle.
Shirley was preceded in death by cherished son, Steve Wcisel; siblings Gail (Tom) Miller and "Joe" (Lee) Hopper.
Shirley will be remembered for her strength, warmth, joy and the deep love she had for her family. Her presence will be missed but her spirit lives on in every life she touched.
A visitation will be held at Coats Funeral Home - Waterford on Saturday, September 13, 2025, starting at 10:30 am with service and remembrance at 2:00 pm to be officiated by Pastor Jeff Blagg. Luncheon at OverTyme Grill & Tap Room. Internment at Lakeview Cemetery.
