Shannon Masters Obituary

Masters, Shannon M., of Lake Orion, passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 53.

Shannon was the loving daughter of the late Jeannette Masters and Daniel (Pamela Burke) Bushey. She was the cherished niece of Rev. Dr. Nevario "Bud" (Marvel) Masters and a beloved cousin of Nathan (Amanda) Masters and Holly (Nathan) Nichols. She is also survived by her step-siblings, Jeremy and Terri Burke, and their daughter, Emily, Mark and Darla Bottrell, Rhonda LaFond, and Don and Michele McArthur; her father's siblings, Debra (Mark) Rutherford, David (Cindy) Bushey, Douglas (the late Lori) Bushey, Denise (Loren) Anderson, and Donna (Kevin) Harrison; along with many cousins and dear friends who will miss her gentle spirit.

A 1991 graduate of Pontiac Northern High School, Shannon followed her lifelong passion for music by earning a bachelor's degree in music from Marygrove College, where she concentrated her studies in piano and voice. Music was one of Shannon’s greatest gifts. She shared her talents by teaching piano lessons to students and spent many years singing with a women's choir. Those fortunate enough to hear her sing often described her as having the voice of an angel, a beautiful gift made even more memorable by her sweet, infectious giggle that could brighten any room.

Shannon found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She adored the color pink and delighted in collecting all things Hello Kitty. She loved shopping, appreciated a good laugh, and possessed a wonderful sense of humor that endeared her to those around her. One of her favorite possessions was her bright blue Chevy Trax, which she proudly drove because it was, in her words, the perfect size and the perfect color.

Most recently, Shannon enjoyed working at the Hallmark store in Lake Orion, where her warm smile, kind heart, and friendly personality made her a favorite among coworkers and customers alike.

Shannon will be remembered for her gentle heart, her deep love of music, her joyful laugh, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Though her time here was far too short, the melody of her life will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
