Rose Wionczek Obituary

Rose Ann Wionczek, age 80, passed away on August 2, 2024. Born on December 19, 1943, in Hamtramck, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of John Joseph and Jenny Kolodziej (née Walczyk). Rose Ann attended Avondale High School and graduated in 1961. She met her soulmate, Stanley, at the “rot spot” behind the police station in Detroit. Their instant connection led to their marriage at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Hamtramck on August 4, 1962. Their love for each other was a testament to their deep bond, and they remained inseparable throughout their lives. A devoted homemaker, Rose Ann was known for her exceptional cooking skills, particularly her Polish dishes, which she learned from her strong Polish roots. Her home was always filled with warmth, love, and the aroma of delicious meals. She was a passionate supporter of the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed watching "The Godfather." Rose Ann courageously battled breast cancer and emerged victorious. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Kathleen (Joseph) Renkiewicz, and her cherished grandchildren, Lori (Shane) Davidson and Joseph Jr. (Sarah) Renkiewicz. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Ethan and Evelyn Davidson and Abigail and Zachary Renkiewicz. Preceded in death by her husband Stanley A. Wionczek of 50 years and her parents.
