Ronald "Ron" Leon Boyd

BOYD, RONALD LEON “RON”, of Waterford, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 77 years old. Ron was born on July 1, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan to parents Norman and Virginia (Smith) Boyd. Ron had grown up in Detroit and graduated from Mckenzie High School in Detroit. During his high school years, Ron had won many awards and broke many records for the school’s swim team. Ron’s love for swimming continued after high school as he tried out for the Olympics in 1964 and went on to teach all his kids how to swim and water ski. Swimming was not the only sport Ron enjoyed, he loved to coach children’s sports teams such as basketball and baseball. Ron had owned and operated his own business, Lincoln Metal Products, a company that made small parts for the big three manufacturing companies. After his retirement from Lincoln Metal Products, Ron had worked as a realtor for over 12 years. Ron will be remembered for being good at everything he did. In his spare time Ron loved to garden, shop, and spend time with his wife, Vicki. Ron and Vicki were on a bowling league for over 12 years and enjoyed going camping in Pentwater every summer with the family. He was a member of Waterford Community Church, where he married his wife, Vicki, and is currently a member of Grace Chapel in Waterford. Ron loved spending every moment possible with his family, especially family gatherings and cookouts.

Ron is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Vicki; children: Heather Boyd, Heath Boyd, and Hannah (Eric) Boyd; grandchildren: Tyler, Tori, Zachary, Elizabeth, Meagan, Joshua, Lauren, Chloe, and Kylie; great-grandchildren: Adam, Paisley, and Jefferson IV; siblings: Norma Litchenberg and Carl Boyd.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Ron at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2:00pm (visitation beginning one hour prior).
