Ronald Wayne Helm, age 78, passed away on October 17, 2025, just ten days shy of his 79th birthday.
Born on October 27, 1946, Ron lived a life marked by dedication, love, and quiet strength. He worked proudly for General Motors for 36 years, where his commitment and work ethic left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Ron had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was casting a line on a quiet lake, tracking deer through the woods, or simply enjoying nature, he found peace and joy in the simple things. He was also a lifelong sports fan, with a special place in his heart for the Detroit Tigers. From opening day to the final pitch of the season, he never missed a chance to cheer them on. He also had a fondness for country music, often filling his home, truck, or garage with the sounds of his favorite songs.
Above all, Ron was a family man. He was a loving father to Ginger (Jody), Jason, and Bruce, and a proud grandfather to Michael, Damien, Jordan, Abbey, and Madalyn. His joy only grew with the birth of his great-grandson, Braxton. He is also survived by his sister Kathy (Jim).
Ron is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth, whose memory he cherished deeply; his brother Tom (Colleen) Helm; and his parents, Howard and Phyllis.
Those who knew Ron will remember his quiet humor, his steady presence, and his deep love for family. He will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held at St. Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM with visitation prior at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society and to Homeless Veterans.
