Roger J. Keebaugh, of Waterford, Michigan, devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 at 66 years of age. He was born on April 16, 1958, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Vernon and Gladys Keebaugh.
A proud graduate of the University of Michigan, Roger was a hardworking, dedicated family man. He inspired and instilled in his family the importance of integrity, resilience, and kindness. He was a passionate fan of Michigan football and Detroit sports and spent many years on the golf course where he found joy in both the sport and the company of friends. As an avid sports lover, his competitive spirit and enthusiasm for games of all kinds was obvious. Whether it was a “family friendly” euchre tournament or challenging his grandkids to a game of chess, Roger’s enthusiasm to teach and pass on his expertise was something that brought him great joy. Roger had a fondness for traveling; taking yearly trips to North Carolina, heading south at any opportunity, or agreeing to spend a week on a beach packed into a large house with his extra-large, loud and busy family of 17 as these family vacations would create irreplaceable memories. When he wasn’t traveling you could find him cruising in his roadster, listening to classic rock, bird watching off his deck, discovering new wineries or enjoying a bottle of wine at the lake with his wife during a summer sunset. These were just some of the simple things in life that Roger enjoyed most during his years in retirement. Above all, Roger was a family man. He was deeply proud of his role as a Grandpa. His love and devotion to his family were evident in every aspect of his life, and his presence will be profoundly missed by those who knew him. His memory will be cherished forever.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Dodie Keebaugh; his devoted children, Dustin (Lindsay) Keebaugh, Brittany (Eric) Childers, Alex (Kathy) Keebaugh, and Zachary (Aimee) Keebaugh; loving grandchildren, Jax , Nash, Hudson, Watson, Scarlett, Adrianna, Beckett, and a baby girl on the way. Dear brother Alan (Lori) Keebaugh, sister-in-laws Shirla Kugler and Karen Kugler and will be missed by his many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, and along with so, so many dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents Vernon and Gladys Keebaugh; his in-laws Robert and Twylah Kugler, and his brother-in-law Rick Kugler.
