MONROE, ROBERT J. “BOB” of White Lake, went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2025 at 71 years of age. Loving husband of Sandy Monroe (née Rexford) for 16 years; dear father of Holly (Jeremy) Smith, Kristyn (Erick) Donaldson, Robert (Brandi) Monroe and step father of Andy (Debbie) Backy; grandfather of Lorene Justice, Connor Smith, Karley Smith, Lilley Smith, Logan Smith, Cameron Donaldson, Dylan Donaldson, Landon Donaldson, Gabby Monroe, Gavin Monroe, Maddie Wheat, Logan Wheat, Gavin Wheat, and Brianna Backy; great grandfather of Braylen and Leilah; son in law to Ward Rexford and step son in law to Bill Oldenburg; brother of Jan (the late Doug) Hungerford and brother in law to Jeff Rexford; preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Verlie Monroe and mother in law Nancy Oldenburg. Bob was a carpenter by trade, self employed specializing in the remodeling of kitchens and bathrooms. A man of God, Bob was a faithful and active member of Flint Central Church of the Nazarene in Flint. He enjoyed attending various Christian groups and loved southern gospel music. A gentle giant, Bob loved time with his family, church friends, and especially his beloved grandchildren. He loved to shop, and particularly enjoyed QVC. He will be forever missed for his sense of humor, his contagious smile, and the joy he brought to his family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11 AM at Flint Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 Bristol Rd, Flint, MI 48507. Luncheon to follow.
