HUTCHINS, ROBERT LEE “BOB” of Holly, Michigan passed on September 15, 2022, at 83 years of age following a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Bob died peacefully at his home with his loving wife by his side.
Bob was born in Pontiac, Michigan on May 6th 1939 to the late Clayton and Ecloise Cora Hutchins (nee Metz). Bob married his beloved wife Deborah Ann on September 9th, 1978. Bob had three children from a previous marriage, Clayton Hutchins, Evelyn (Ronald) Parker, and William (Meta) Hutchins and was a proud grandfather of Bethany, Daniel, Robert, BreAna, Ronnie, Arianne and great grandfather to (Princess) Sadie. He was Uncle Bob to many amazing nieces and nephews, and dad to many fur babies.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother William Hutchins, sister Ramona Boadway, and sister Vicky Grassel, and is survived by sisters Dorothy Karow and Betty Hutchins.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army. After serving his time, he went on to work at various manufacturing areas until he started work at General Motors Truck and Bus. He retired from GM in 1999 after 30 years of service and began a retirement full of golf, racket ball, bowling, hunting, fishing, boating, travel, woodworking and enjoying life in general. Bob loved going out to dine on good food that ranged from Capital Grille and his old favorite Charley's Crab to the A&W for Coney dogs. Bob enjoyed anything life brought his way with tremendous gusto. Battling through many major illnesses for more than a decade, he never once complained, he just prized and had a love for life. As his health declined, his love of watching westerns became well known, particularly Gunsmoke.
Special thanks to his doctor and medical staff for continued care and support.
We also wish to thank Ashley and Kellie for their care and support in respite care home health care a few days a week. Also thanking his Therapy team that worked to provided him with more mobile days. Lastly, the hospice team that allowed him to pass with care and dignity.
Bob is dearly missed by his Wife, his children, his extended family, and pet.
