BUTLER, ROBERT JOSEPH, age 60, of Clarkston, passed away September 18, 2021. He was born on June 8, 1961, in Harvey, Illinois and was adopted by loving parents, the late Ora Joseph and Emma Butler, who raised him from birth. His biological parents were Ernesto Cavazos and Donna Shoup. Rob is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Sharlene Marie Butler. Rob was a proud father of Robert Joseph Butler Jr. of Holly, Michigan and Anthony Joseph Butler of Ortonville, Michigan, and stepchildren Ash Dasuqi, Jordan (Alexandra) Dasuqi, Jacob Dasuqi, and Marcelena (Steve) Mace. He was a dearest brother to Larry Rithaler, Chris Cavazos, Marla (Jeff) Weeks, Windy (Chris) Stryker, Dadiva (Adolfo) Vasquez, Charity Cavazos, Mercy Cavazos, Selah (Daniel) Mendoza, and Micah Cavazos; predeceased by siblings Larry McGill and Patricia Boone; cherished uncle to 11 nieces and nephews. Rob proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Seabee in units NMCB 23 and 26 from 1993 to 2002. He also served in the United States Marine Corps in 1982. Rob received a Master of Business Administration and Accounting degrees, and he was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Michigan. He dedicated himself to his work as the owner of Butler CPA & Associates PLLC in Waterford, Michigan. He started playing the guitar at the age of 17 and performed for many years in the Detroit area, but one of his favorite gigs was playing with the praise and worship team at Mount Zion Church in Clarkston, Michigan. Rob was a devout Christian and was saved May 10, 1980. He put all his trust in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 10 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON (8909 Dixie highway). Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery where he will be receiving military honors.
