Richard L. Ross

Richard L. Ross, of Pontiac, Michigan, passed peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the age of 75.

Richard was the beloved husband of Vera V. Ross for 54 wonderful years. Loving father of Edward (Sandra) Ross and proud papa of Emma Ross. Dear brother of David (Yvonne) Ross and Duane (Terry) Ross. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Richard shared a special bond with his two furry companions, Buttercup the cat and Addy the dog.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Phyllis Ross; his brother, Douglas Ross; and his sister, Denise Ross.

Richard retired from General Motors in 1999 after 31 years of dedicated service as an assembly worker. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family and enjoyed the friendships he made throughout his career.

In his free time, Richard enjoyed bowling, golfing, and following sports of all kinds. One of his greatest joys was traveling with Vera in their fifth-wheel trailer, creating lasting memories and exploring new places together. He also loved cooking for family and friends and became known for his homemade hard candy and peanut  brittle, treats that were always eagerly anticipated by those who knew him. Whether spending time on the road, enjoying a sporting event, or sharing something sweet from his kitchen, Richard found happiness in life's simple pleasures and in the company of those he loved most.

Above all, Richard will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his kind heart, and the many memories he created with those around him. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Visitation will be held at COATS FUNERAL HOME - CLARKSTON, 8909 Dixie Highway, Clarkston, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

Memorial donations may be made in Richard's memory to the American Heart Association or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
