Richard Bowling Finney, age 78, of Clarkston, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025. Born on September 12, 1946, Richard was the beloved son of the late Robert Thomas Finney and Pauline Finney (née Bowling).
Richard was married to the love of his life, Linda Finney (née Coombs), for 60 cherished years. Together, they raised two children: Darlene (Terence) and Richard, Jr. He was a proud and stoic father, and a devoted grandfather to Kaitlynn, Hannah, and Lexie.
Richard retired after 30 years of dedicated service at General Motors. In his later years, he lovingly cared for his aging parents, embodying a quiet strength and deep sense of responsibility.
He had a special place in his heart for his springer spaniels, Kolby and Jeremy. Richard found joy in the simple things—mall walking at Great Lakes Crossing, traveling, trips to Las Vegas, playing the slots, and joining senior outings to the casino. He took great pride in his yard, always maintaining it with the same care and attention as Tiger Stadium itself.
Richard will be remembered for his steady presence, his quiet devotion to family, and the life he lived with dignity and purpose.
