FINKBEINER, RICHARD L. of Waterford, passed away April 7, 2025 at 84 years of age. Loving husband of the late Sharleen and the late Rosalie Finkbeiner; dear father of Jeffery (Beth) Finkbeiner; grandfather of Zachary and Kevin; brother of Elaine (Elbert) Harrell; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Also survived by Sharleen’s family: sons Bryan (Donna), Craig (Tonya), and Barry (Jackie) Hooper; grandchildren Katelyn (Richie), Garrett (Allie), Shelby (Halston), Landon, Kendall (Sarah), and Rachel (Cole); great grandchildren Leo, Gwen, Elijah, Sage, Rowan, Lucas, Madeline, and Crew. Richard was a 1959 graduate of Waterford Township High School and retired from the Waterford Police Department in 1990 after 27 years of dedicated service. After retirement he worked many years as a court officer for the 51st District Court in Waterford. He was a big gun enthusiast; motorcyclist; and was fond of classic cars, spending time at car shows and the car museum at Greenfield Village. As a football player in high school, Richard was a huge football fan of the Lions and college football especially U of M, MSU, and Notre Dame. He had a good sense of humor and a soft heart for animals. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 11 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD.
