It is with deep sorrow and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of Ray Herman Prevo on October 16, 2025, at the young age of 55.
Ray was a devoted husband to Jacquelyn “Jacquie” Prevo, who was his partner and best friend through the many seasons of life. Together, they built a home rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering support; a place where family always came first.
Above all else, Ray was a family man. He was the proud father of six children: John (Brittany), Megan, Joe, David, Nikki (Nick), and Gabe. To them, he was more than just a dad; he was their guide, their steady hand, and the one who could be counted on no matter what. Ray believed in showing up no matter the circumstance. Whether it was a broken car, a tough day, or a middle-of-the-night call. If you needed him, he was there. He didn’t just raise his kids; he taught them how to live with strength, heart, and a great sense of humor.
Ray’s greatest joy in recent years was being “Grandpa” to his grandchildren: Ari, Connor, Samuel, Mia, Jazz, Norah, Erick Jr., Violet, and Elijah. He lit up around them, taking pride in every little milestone, every giggle, every hug. Whether it was teaching them to play the guitar, setting up tents in the backyard, working on cars, building models or simply being present, Ray poured his heart into being the kind of Grandpa they would carry in their hearts forever.
He had a deep love for music, especially classic rock and blues. He loved working on hot rods with his son and grandsons, he loved the outdoors, sitting outside with family around a campfire. He had just finished a waterfall trip with Jacquie which he was beyond excited about and couldn't stop talking about how much fun he had with her.
Ray was the go-to guy, the one who fixed everything, figured things out, and never gave up. Ray was always there for anyone who needed help no matter the time. That’s just who he was.
Ray leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength that will live on through his wife, his brother (Roy) , his children, his grandchildren, and the many lives he touched. He will be missed beyond words, but his presence will always be felt; in the music, in the laughter of his grandkids, and in every moment we choose to show up for each other.
