STOGLIN, PENNY A. (nѐe Hanson) of Clarkston and Charlevoix, passed away July 2, 2025 at 83 years of age. Loving wife of James Stoglin for 65 years; cherished mother of Annette (Robert) Boger, Lisa (Michael) Chiuchiarelli, the late Jeffrey Stoglin, and the late Deborah Stoglin; proud grandmother of Brooke (Jacob), Hailey, Ryleigh, Isabella, James, and Layla; sister of Cheri Hawkins, Kathy Spencer, and the late Wallace (LaVonne) Tatro; sister in law of the late Malcom (Barbara) Stoglin; preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Hanson and Reah Tatro; aunt to many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Pontiac, Penny was a graduate of the first graduating class of Pontiac Northern High School in 1959. She married Jim shortly after graduation and would spend a life time raising a family in Clarkston and running a business by his side. Penny and Jim owned and operated Carbide Form Master, Inc. for 47 years, a business that is still owned and operated by Jim to this day. A ferocious reader, often reading 2 or 3 books a week, Penny also relished summers at their home on Lake Charlevoix surrounded by family and books. Family was everything to Penny. A wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother every holiday big and small deserved a special recognition for the occasion. Birthdays were always celebrated with a chocolate cake laced with cinnamon, a secret known only to Penny. She was proper, classy, with a sly sense of humor, and instilled in all her children and grandchildren to “stand up straight”. She is a precious gem that can never be replaced. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 1 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON, 8909 Dixie Hwy. Family will receive friends Tuesday 11 AM until time of service. Private burial will be held at Ottawa Park Cemetery, Clarkston. To post a tribute, visit www.CoatsFuneralHome.com.
