SOMMERS, PAUL M., of Davisburg, passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2026, at 48 years of age.
Paul was the loving son of Bruce and Nancy (Geoit) Sommers; devoted brother of Nate (Dawn) Sommers, Tamra (Jim) Simpson, and Tina (Carl) Kilpatrick; and beloved uncle of Raven, Nyxxie, and Bastion Simpson; Jessica, Anya, and Lilli Bishop; Jaxson Kilpatrick; Rebekah McGee; and Kody Kilpatrick. He was the cherished grandson of Zona Sommers and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Dorthy Geoit and Glenn Sommers, as well as his best dog friend Larry.
He is also survived by his faithful dogs, Lexi and Luna, his dear friends, Cat Waits, Leib Dove and Kelly Palmer, and his stepchildren, Lanie, Chad, Drake, Zach, and Tora.
A 1996 graduate of Clarkston High School, Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. Following his military service, he became a licensed truck driver and built a successful career on the open road. An independent spirit, Paul owned his own rig and spent nearly 30 years as a contract truck driver, taking great pride in his work and the freedom that came with it.
Paul had a charisma and charm that made everyone cherish and appreciate his presence. A natural practical joker, he loved making people laugh, and his own infectious laugh was impossible to forget. Whether pulling a harmless prank or sharing a funny story, he had a way of bringing smiles to those around him.
He enjoyed target shooting, fishing, hunting, grilling meals for family and friends, and gathering around a table for a good card game. Above all, Paul cherished the time he spent with his beloved dogs, his nieces and nephews, and the people he loved most. Family gatherings were made better by his humor, generous heart, and willingness to lend a hand.
Paul will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his hardworking nature, his unmistakable laugh, and the joy he brought to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his family and friends will forever treasure the memories, laughter, and love he leaves behind.
