Adored matriarch of her family, Patricia Ramer will forever live on in the memories of those who loved her.
Loving wife of the late Lynn David Ramer; dear mother of Cindy (Terry) Stickel, Linda (Jeff) Schwedt and the late Debbie Ramer; proud grandmother of Chris (Megan) Ramer, Andrea Sian, David (Aesha) Schwedt, Jason (Jamie) Schwedt, Sheree Schwedt, Mackenzie Schwedt, Terry Jr. Stickel, Eddie Stickel, and the late Dale Sian; great grandmother of 9; sister of Mike (Donna) MacDonald, Sharon (the late Bill) Linforth and the late Veronica “Bonnie” Mates
Patricia spent many years living across the East Coast with her husband, Dave, as he served in the Navy, eventually settling in Ferndale, MI, to raise their three daughters. She pursued a career as a medical assistant for an oncologist, where her compassionate nature truly shined until her retirement at age 65.
She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, often hosting parties and gatherings. Patricia was incredibly sensitive and caring, opening her heart to everyone she met. She was affectionately known as “mom” to many beyond her children.
Deeply connected to her faith, Patricia was a devout Catholic who treasured Christmas with her family. She once shared that she felt the most love when her family made her home their home, even if it meant a bit of mess and fighting with wrapping paper after Christmas dinner—a family in a home, nonetheless.
Patricia wholeheartedly honored her Irish heritage, embracing her fiery wit, cheering on Notre Dame, and joyfully celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. She had a deep love for flowers and gardening and was an animal lover, cherishing many pets throughout her life.
After retiring, Patricia joined the Bethany group, where she spent many years traveling the world with friends. In her later years, she found joy in crocheting, knitting, reading, and spending time with her family in Florida.
Her memory will live on in us through the way she celebrated and loved her family, her acceptance of everyone for who they were, her sassy and honest spirit, and her inspiring determination, strength, and optimism—always choosing to look on the brighter side.
