HOLEMAN, NORMAN L. “NORM”, of Highland, formerly of Waterford, passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2025, at the age of 63.
Norm was the devoted and loving husband of Beth (née Hoban), with whom he shared 38 years of marriage, partnership, and life. He was a proud and caring father to Jeff (Angie) Ferguson and Heather (Cory) Fauteux, and a deeply cherished grandfather to Dominic, Abbie, Kyre, Anthony, Taylor, Mackenna, and Emerson—each of whom brought him great joy and pride. He was the dear brother of Sally (Bryant) Jenkins and Laura (Rick) Schachinger.
Born and raised in Waterford, Norm attended Waterford Township High School before beginning a long and dedicated career as an operating engineer with Toebe Construction. For more than 20 years, he took great pride in his work as a member of Operating Engineers Local 324. Known for his reliability, skill, and strong work ethic, Norm was the kind of man others depended on—someone who could fix, build, or figure out just about anything. If it had wheels, an engine, or a problem, Norm was usually the solution.
After many years of hard work and long hours away from home, Norm embraced retirement, though he never truly slowed down. Staying active and hands-on came naturally to him, whether he was working on cars, in the yard, or helping family and friends. Despite illness and physical challenges, his determination and spirit never wavered.
Norm was an avid bowler for many years and treasured his time spent with the Guys & Dolls league at Century Bowl, where laughter, friendly competition, and camaraderie filled many evenings. He had a natural sense of humor and an easygoing way about him that made people feel comfortable and welcome. His presence was warm and steady, never too loud but it was always felt.
Above all else, Norm was a proud family man. He loved deeply, genuinely, showed up consistently, and put the people he cared about first, especially when it came to his beloved wife, Beth. He will be remembered for his kindness, his silent strength, his quick wit, and the unwavering love he gave to his family.
Norm will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private burial will take place at Ottawa Park Cemetery in Clarkston. A Celebration of Life will be held at OverTyme Grill & Tap Room in Waterford after the holidays, with details to be shared in the coming weeks.
