JOSS, MARLENE E. (née Shell) of Drayton Plains, Hale, and Stuart, FL, passed away October 7, 2024 at 85 years of age. Loving wife of Robert “Bob” for 63 years; dearest mother of Kari (Steve) Hume, Trish (Nelson) Andrews, Paul (Cindy) Joss, and Matt (Linda) Joss; grandmother of Nathan, Joslyn, Rachel, Nina, Alec (Leah), Sarah, Annie, Kaley, Amelia, Jacob, Trevor, Lucas, and Alison; preceded in death by her loving parents, Carl and Orva (née Clouse) Shell; sister of the late Gene Shell, the late Orin “Hank” (the late Barbara) Shell, the late Marci Turnbull, Marilyn (Bob) Martin, and Richard (Irene) Shell. Marlene retired from Waterford School District after 12 years of service. She enjoyed crafts, painting, playing cards, games, and traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her bright blue eyes and warm smile will be forever missed. Funeral service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Burial follows at All Saints Cemetery, Waterford. Family will receive friends Thursday 5-8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a donation made to American Cancer Society or Make A Wish Michigan, Southeast.
