Marjorie Ruth Nye

NYE, MARJORIE R. of Waterford, passed away July 9, 2024 at 100 years of age, only weeks away from her 101 birthday. Loving wife of the late Harry Nye for 25 years; dear mother of Robert Atchison and Candy McQueen; grandmother of 11, preceded in death by 2 grandchildren; great grandmother of many; sister of Ralph Weilke and Betty McQueen and preceded in death by 4 siblings. Marjorie retired from GM after 32 years of service. Following her retirement, Marjorie enjoyed wintering in Florida and summers in northern Michigan at Joe’s Lake. But what she was infamous for her walking. Marjorie easily walked 4 to 5 miles a day, even her grandchildren could not keep up with her. Not one to sit still, when she wasn’t walking, she enjoyed dining out and shopping which always included hours at the jewelry counter. She was a good cook, enjoyed feeding and spending time with her family. She will always be loved and remembered. Family will receive friends Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2 to 6 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Private burial will be held at Crescent Hills Cemetery, Waterford.
