Marjorie Louise McCoy, age 77, of Waterford, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026.
Born on January 6, 1949, in Pontiac, Michigan, Marjorie lived a life filled with faith, compassion, creativity, and joy. Marjorie was artistic, vibrant, and truly full of life. She absolutely loved garage sales and thrifting, always excited to discover a hidden treasure or bargain to share with others. She had a deep love for music and dancing and enjoyed every genre imaginable — from the classics of the 1950s and 1960s, to rock and roll, to country music. If there was music playing, Marjorie was smiling, dancing and whistling along to the tune. She was known for her whistling ability and talent to mimic the sounds of so many different birds.
Known by many as a true social butterfly, Marjorie never met a stranger. She always made time to stop and chat with friends, neighbors, and anyone she encountered. Her warm personality and welcoming spirit drew people to her everywhere she went. She was so outgoing and friendly that she was even nominated to join a sorority although she never attended university — a reflection of her magnetic personality and ability to connect with others.
Marjorie was a giver in every sense of the word. She constantly looked for ways to help others, lend a hand, or brighten someone’s day. She had a generous heart and found joy in giving back whenever she could. A natural caregiver, Marjorie took tremendous pride in caring for her parents, family members, and friends throughout her life. Her compassion, strength, and selflessness touched countless lives.
Harvestland Church, was her home base of faith where she cherished worship & fellowship. Her faith guided her life and inspired her constant desire to help others whenever she could.
Above all else, Marjorie deeply loved her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Mack McCoy; her beloved children, Marie Schoff, Cheryl (Marc) Pilipuf, Tracie (Darryl) Trombley, Jeremy McCoy, and Daniel (David) Elias; her cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Michael, Anna, Jack, Max, Chelsie, Derek, Tyler, Shannon and Abigail and six great grandchildren ; her siblings, Marcia (Doug), Michael, Lynn (Biff), Lisa (Dennis), JoJo (Jim), Forrest, and Lovajo. Preceded in death by; siblings Vicky, Martin, Mark ; parents George and Margaret.
Marjorie’s legacy of kindness, faith, laughter, generosity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
