Madeleine Ann Fritschka

Madeleine Ann Fritschka, age 96, passed away peacefully April 8, 2025. She was born in the town of Somber, Yugoslavia, to the late John and Helen Felkl. Madeleine lived in Yugoslavia with her parents and brother until 1954, when they made the life-changing decision to immigrate to the United States. It was in Detroit where Madeleine met the love of her life, Richard William Fritschka. Their connection was immediate, and they married in 1957. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and joy. Madeleine and Richard raised their daughter, Patricia, and were a devoted couple, sharing many cherished memories. In her free time, Madeleine loved ballroom dancing with Richard, and they spent many enjoyable evenings playing Bridge with their friends. When he retired, they enjoyed traveling the world.  Madeleine is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Arnie) Herberg; her grandchildren, Angela Herberg and Christopher (Amanda) Herberg; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Noah Herberg. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Elly Felkl. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Richard, and her brother John. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date to honor her life. Madeleine’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
