Lois Irene (Marley) Marshall
Born into the fabric of life on February 12, 1933, and lovingly woven into the hearts of many, Lois Irene Marshall passed away at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and adventure.
A devoted quilter, Lois found joy in stitching together not just fabric, but cherished memories with those she loved. Her hands created beautiful pieces that warmed both homes and hearts, each thread a testament to her patience and artistry. Beyond her craft, she had an unquenchable spirit for travel, finding beauty in the sandy shores of Hawaii and the serene landscapes of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula—places that called to her Finnish heritage and became part of her story.
She was a beloved mother to five, a grandmother to ten, and a great-grandmother to nine, each generation blessed by her wisdom and strong-willed nature. Lois was also a dear cousin to Ruthann Holmstrom, sharing the bond of family across the years. And many cherished nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her Devoted husband of 66 years, Terry Marshall, and her younger sister, Philis Dewitt, who both welcomed her home with open arms.
Lois’ life was a masterpiece, stitched together with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the beauty in both the smallest moments and grand adventures. She will be missed dearly but forever remembered in the quilts she made, the stories she told, and the legacy she leaves behind.
