Linda Anne Shea, age 78, of Waterford, Michigan, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, from a surprise recurrence of cancer. Preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James P. Shea, she will be greatly missed by her 4 children, Lori (Enzo) Cerqua, Leah (Donald) Lindsey, Brian (Amy) Valente, and Tricia (Matthew) Clendennin; along with her Son-in-law, Kurt (Regina) Shea; and her cherished Stepdaughter, Danette (Buck) Boldt.
Linda was an adventurous person who spent 30 years traveling the world with the love of her life, savoring every bit of culture from all corners of the globe. The stories of their adventures portrayed her love for learning and the dedication she had to her husband and their shared passion for travel. From experiencing the everyday life of the people to learning languages and trying every type of food on earth (thanks to Jim), Linda loved her life.
Their 19 Grandchildren were blessed to call her Grandma (or by some, the affectionate name of “Granny”). Her Christmas gifts when they were younger always shared her love of learning, from science kits to various unique projects she would find. Her cherished gardens, full of flowers, gave her another avenue for teaching her grandchildren the valued art of weeding and deadheading, which will never be forgotten. Her sister and best friend, Nancy Krupiarz, shared her love of learning, and together they attacked new skills such as photography.
The loss of her as a mother, grandmother, and sister will be felt for a lifetime. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at Coats Funeral Home – Clarkston, 8909 Dixie Highway, Clarkston, Michigan 48348. A funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 4:00PM. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jaco Bester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Linda’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
~If Roses Grow in Heaven~
If roses grow in heaven,
Lord, please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother’s arms
And tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
But there’s an ache within my heart
That will never go away.
