LeeRoy Clarence Nancarrow

LeeRoy Clarence Nancarrow, age 84, of Clarkston, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 15, 1941, in a home birth in Clarkston, he was the son of the late Bessie Williamson.

LeeRoy met the love of his life, Janice Thompson, while they were in school. The two were married on September 29, 1962, in Indiana, beginning a beautiful life centered around family. Together, they built a strong and loving home and raised a family that remained LeeRoy’s greatest joy. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a cherished Grandpa or “Old Papa” — titles he wore with honor and deep affection.

A true outdoorsman at heart, LeeRoy found peace and purpose in nature. He was an avid sportsman and active member of several clubs and organizations, including Ducks Unlimited, the Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club, and the United Automobile Workers of America. He dedicated his career to General Motors, working faithfully as a millwright until his retirement.

LeeRoy’s warm presence, unwavering support, and deep love for his family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Janice Nancarrow; his children, Kevin Nancarrow, Brian Nancarrow, Duane Nancarrow, Robin (Lori Parsons) Nancarrow, and Brenda (Michael) Butler; grandchildren, Joshua Nancarrow, Camden Nancarrow, Jamie (Keith) Young, Emily (Anthony) Fodera, and Ashley Butler; great-grandchildren, Kimberly Young, Daniel Fodera, and Julian Butler; and cousins, Linda (Chris) Kelly and Lynn Baker.

A Celebration of Life will be held September 13, 2025 at 1PM,  hosted by the American Legion Post 377. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in LeeRoy’s honor to Ducks Unlimited or the Oakland County Sportsmen’s Club.
