Kristi’s educational background is extensive, graduating from Waterford Kettering High School where she participated on many athletic teams.  She pursued higher education receiving a Liberal Arts Associate Degree from Oakland Community College.  She then became a proud Eastern Michigan University HURON graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree.  Her final education journey took her to Wayne State University to receive a Masters of Public Administration Degree.  Kristi also was a Detroit Police Academy graduate.  After graduating from the Police Academy Kristi became a highly respected Police Officer for Wayne State University for 10+ years.

During her tenure on the Wayne State Police department, Kristi took the necessary classes to become recertified to teach, which was her first love.  She accepted a teaching position in the Utica Community School District where she spent the next 24 years.  Kristi was a much-loved teacher within her school district and retired from teaching in June of 2021.

As most of us know, Kristi was a car fanatic. Her Red Corvette was her pride and joy and one of her favorite times of year was the Woodward Dream Cruise. She was a cruiser through and through.  She was also a devoted Detroit Tigers fan, good season, bad season it was okay with her as long as she got to see them play.  She also spent a few summers working as a grounds crew worker at Comerica Park.

Kristi’s favorite times were those spent with the people most important to her.  Her friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews and the two great nephews who held the biggest portion of her heart.

Kristi will always be remembered for her quick wit, kindness and care for others, her bright eyes, her beautiful smile and the excitement she showed her students when they were successful completing their assigned tasks.
