WAGNER, KENNETH RALPH, age 91, of Waterford, passed away at the Avalon of Bloomfield on March 15, 2023, where he was a resident for almost 3 years. Ken was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on August 8, 1931, to the late Roy and Elva (Smart) Wagner. Ken grew up and attended school in Sault Ste. Marie. After high school, he moved to Pontiac, Michigan in the early fifties. During that time, he and his brother owned a gas station where he met the love of his life Doris, while she was filling up her taxicab. They eventually were married on December 31, 1956, and together they lived happily until she passed away in 2005. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army in Korea and received 2 Bronze stars for his heroic achievements overseas. After the service, he worked as an inspector in parts and service for General Motors for 30 years until he retired. In his free time, Ken was a member of the Oakland County Sportsman club, the VFW post 1008, and the American Legion. Ken is survived by his four sisters Donna Trujillo, Gala (Don) Perry, Carol (Dan) Hoover, and Nancy Taylor; nieces and nephews who love him dearly; he is preceded in death by siblings Weldon, Gerald, William, Elmond, and Elva. Those who wish to make donations are asked to consider donating for the further advancement of dementia and a possible cure via DEMENTIA SOCIETY OF AMERICA.
