Julie Lynn Skarritt

May 24, 1967 ~ May 16, 2023 (age 55) 55 Years Old

Obituary

Julie Lynn Skarritt, of Waterford, passed away on Tuesday, the 16th of May 2023. She was born in Pontiac on the 24th of May 1967, to John Kimball Skarritt III (Diane) and the late Mary Lynn Price.  She was 55 years old.

Julie loved being a mother to her beautiful daughters, Jordan Nicole McDonald and Makenna Elizabeth McDonald, and was a proud grandmother of the late Hunter.  She was the dearest sister of Tracy Lee Skarritt and John Kimball Skarritt IV (Jeanie); and a kind and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.  Julie loved her fur babies and was proud to have the title of "Crazy Cat Lady,” but it's easy to say they were just as crazy about her.

She met the love of her life, John Auger, four wonderful years ago. In him, Julie had found her best friend and a cherished partner to spend her life with and she looked forward to spending the years ahead with him as they lived their best life.

Julie had an affinity towards hospitality that showed in her professional and personal life. She started bartending at the age of 18, working at Bottoms Up, Billy's Tip'N Inn and Mitch's II. This carried over to her love and gift for being the hostess for holidays and special occasions for family and friends, especially at Halloween. Everyone knew Julie's favorite time of year was Halloween and her house always had the best decorations in the neighborhood.

She enjoyed cooking, baking and her specialties were fried chicken, pumpkin rolls, and cheesecake. Julie adored the historic Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island with its relaxing atmosphere, and everything about the Titanic and the mysteries that still surround the people and the items that were aboard her that fateful day in 1912.

Please join the family as they gather to celebrate Julie's life at OverTyme Grill and Taproom, 4724 Dixie Hwy in Waterford at 1:00 in the afternoon on Saturday, the 3rd of June 2023.

In lieu of customary remembrances, please consider donations in honor of Julie to Elizabeth Lake Animal Rescue, PO Box 126, Union Lake, MI. 48387 (petfinder.com) as her love of all animals was immeasurable.
