Judy Tower Obituary

Judy Kay Tower, 67, of West Bloomfield, passed away on January 2,2025. Born May 21, 1957, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Floyd James and Delreta Dawn Tower (née Coleman), Judy lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and creativity.

A proud graduate of Clarkston High School, Class of 1975, Judy built a career as a dedicated legal secretary and office manager over two decades. Her precision and passion for her work made her indispensable to every team she joined. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 63 in Clarkston for many years.

Judy was a beacon of joy and hospitality. A culinary wizard, she could turn any ingredient found in her kitchen into a delicious meal, with her legendary Christmas beef tenderloin being a highlight for family and friends. Her open-door policy made her home a hub of laughter, comfort, and great food. Known as a "second mom" to many, Judy’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her family.

Judy found happiness in the simple yet meaningful pleasures of life: gardening, dancing, fire-bowls, and countless hours of conversation around the kitchen table with friends and family listening to music. Judy was an avid reader, loved trips to the zoo and cherished the time spent with her beloved grandchildren. She reveled in creating memories with them, filing their lives with love and laughter. Judy shared many joyful moments with her friends and family at Magic Bus concerts and treasured her visits to her best friend Elaine's property, "La Parcela", which was her happy place.

Judy is survived by her children, Zachary (Lauren) Dotson and Jesse Kate (Adam) Vogel; grandchildren, Pilot, Josephine Judy (JJ), Fox, Odin, and Leo; the father of her children, Judd Dotson; siblings Lynn (George) Bennett, Beth (Ben) Lawrence, Gail (Randy) Erb, Mike (Susan) Tower, and Amy (Eric) Laboissonniere; aunt to many beloved nieces and nephews; and her dear friends Lela and Elaine.

A celebration of life will be held on January 18 from 3-6 pm at the American Legion Campbell-Richmond Post 63, 8047 Ortonville Road, Clarkston, MI 48348.

Judy's life was a symphony of love, kindness, and connection. She will be remembered for her generous heart, contagious laughter, and the songs she brought into every room. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be sent to: American Legion Auxiliary Unit 63, Lighthouse Women's Shelter, Detroit Zoo, and the Michigan Humane Society.
