Judith A. Figa, born on September 5, 1938, passed away on December 1, 2024, at the age of 86. She leaves behind a legacy of remarkable achievements, deep love for her family, and a lifetime of dedication to her passions.
Judy, known for her impressive golfing career, was a celebrated member of the Women's Michigan Golf Association, earning Hall of Fame recognition for her athleticism and contributions to the sport. She was a fierce competitor and a passionate advocate for women in golf, with countless accolades in local and state competitions. In addition to her golfing achievements, Judy was a proud participant in the Senior Olympics, where she showcased her tenacity and love for sports.
Beyond her athletic accomplishments, Judy's creativity and craftsmanship were evident in her many hobbies. She had a natural talent for sewing, quilting, and embroidery, and she loved making clothes for her family and friends. Judy also carved beautiful canes. She found joy in each stitch, each design, and each project she completed.
In her professional life, Judy had a successful career at Michigan Bell, where she worked as a supervisor. Her leadership, work ethic, and determination made a lasting impression on her colleagues and those she mentored throughout her tenure.
Judy's greatest pride, however, was her family. She is survived by her children Timothy (Mary Margaret) Campbell, Jacqui (John) Rapacki, and Jane (Tim) Kennedy. She was a proud grandmother to Nickolas (Marie) Campbell, Lindsey Smith, Steve Smith, Dean Palecheck, Julianne Rapacki, Jackson Rapacki, and Allie Wiant, and a loving great-grandmother to Drew Smith and Donnie Smith.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tom (Peggy) Figa; daughter, Michelle (Gary) Palecheck; and husband, Mitchell Figa, who remains in her heart and memories.
Judy’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her loving spirit, generosity, and tireless dedication to both her family and her passions.
A funeral service will be held at Coats Funeral Home in Waterford on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 3:00 pm. Family will receive friends starting at 1:00 pm until the time of service.
She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, skill, and warmth will endure in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate to know her.
