Josephine "Jo" Ann Smith

Josephine Ann “Jo” Smith, age 86 passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026.  She was preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Emily Snyder, sisters Emily Kleintop and Eleanor Kissinger, and husband, Walt of 51 years.  She is survived by her three children Gregory Smith, Phyllis Tunis (Gary) and Roger Smith (Kelly), six grandchildren Ryan Smith, Lauren Baltazar (Cory), Daniel Tunis (Christina), Christopher Tunis (Stephanie), Connor Smith and Ethan Smith, as well as five great grandchildren, Alexis, Eric, Brody, Ruby and Oliver.
Jo’s life was enriched by the simple pleasures she found interacting with her family.  She especially loved spoiling her “grand-dogs” and her grandchildren. Her deep love for her family will remain a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her. 
A private burial service to be held at a later date, per her wishes. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jo's name to Waterford Township Meals on Wheels or to the Michigan Humane Society.
