GOSS, JOHN C., of Waterford, passed away on March 26, 2026, at 77 years of age.
John was the loving husband of Donna (née Gillette) Goss for 50 years; beloved father of Sarah (Cruz) Deleon and Daniel Goss; and proud grandfather of Johnathan, Jaime, Benjamin, Tabatha, and Bethany, and great-grandfather of Cooper. He was the dear brother of Steve (Anna) Goss, Bradley (Pam) Goss, and Elda Hollis, and was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mabel (née Eineder) Goss, along with five siblings.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, John served his country with honor before going on to dedicate 30 years of service as a custodian with Troy Public Schools. He was known as a dependable and hardworking man who took pride in his work.
John was a simple man who found joy in life’s everyday moments. He enjoyed collecting model cars and took special pleasure in family trips to Florida to visit his parents—often making sure to include a side trip to Disney World for his children, creating memories that would last a lifetime. He also loved going for long walks, often joking it was because he was “going crazy,” though those walks frequently led to a stop for ice cream.
Easygoing by nature, John had a warm sense of humor and a personality that was always happy and jolly. He had a way of making those around him feel at ease and appreciated the simple blessings of life.
John attended Maranatha Baptist Church for many years, where his faith and fellowship were important parts of his life.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his lighthearted spirit, and the love he had for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
