John Weber Obituary

WEBER, JOHN C. of Waterford, with the heaviest and saddest of hearts we announce the sudden passing our dad on April 4, 2026. He was 80 years old. A man to honor, a man whose kindness seemed to have no limits, our dad was the kind of person who didn’t just care about his family — he cared about everyone. If someone needed help, he was already on his way. If someone needed comfort, he offered it without hesitation. And if someone needed a reminder that goodness still exists in this world, he embodied it.

He loved his family with a depth that shaped every part of his life. We always came first — not because he had to, but because that’s who he was. He showed his love in the everyday moments: the quiet support, the steady presence, the way he made sure we felt safe, valued, and never alone. His love wasn’t loud, but it was constant, and it was the foundation we all stood on.

But there was another part of him that defined his life just as deeply: he absolutely loved to drive. Not everyone is made to handle a fuel tanker, but he did it with skill, with safety, and with pride. For 38 years, driving for Amoco, he dedicated himself to a job that demanded focus, responsibility, and grit — and he carried all of that with humility. He didn’t just drive for a living; he drove because it was in his blood. It was something he was truly built for.

Even after retiring in 2002, that urge to be on the road never left him. So he found a new way to keep doing what he loved — becoming a courier for a local hospital. And just like everything else he touched, he made an impact. He brought reliability, warmth, and a familiar smile to everyone he met along the way. He turned a simple job into another opportunity to help people, to connect, and to leave a positive impression.

He was cherished by so many because he lived his life with an open heart. Friends, neighbors, coworkers — they all felt the same thing we did: that he was someone you could count on. Someone who made the world feel a little steadier - someone who showed up.

Losing him so suddenly has left a space that can’t be filled. The world feels quieter without his smile and laugh, his advice, his stories, and his steady presence. But the impact he made — the love he gave so freely — lives on in every one of us. In the way we treat others. In the way we show up for our families. In the way we choose kindness, even when it’s hard.

We will miss him dearly. We will miss his warmth, his humor, his generosity, and the way he made life feel lighter just by being in it. But we carry him with us — in our memories, in our stories, and in the parts of ourselves he helped shape.

He will be missed by his church, St. Benedict Catholic Church in Waterford, by neighbors who saw him daily caring for his yard, and his paint brushes and watercolor paints will be left untouched and the canvas blank.

Our dad is now reunited with our beloved mother, Maureen (née O’Leary) Weber, whom he missed every day. He leaves behind his adoring children, Patricia Noble, John Weber, and Kathryn (Scott) Hancock; grandchildren, Veronica (William), Sydney (John), Shane (Simone), Jessica (Marc), Gabrielle, Zoe, Sofia, and Zachary; great grandchildren, Evelyn, Charles, Adelaide, and Frederick soon to arrive; brother, Phil (Carla) Weber; sister in law Sharon Weber. Along with our mom, he is reunited with his parents, Paul and Doris (née Warsop) Weber and brother, Paul Weber.

Dad, thank you for loving us so well. Thank you for showing us what it means to live with kindness and purpose. Thank you for being the heart of our family.

You will always live in the very best parts of us.
