Jena Ann (Hearld) Marek

Jena Ann Marek, 63, of White Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on October 28, 2024. She was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas, to the late James and Lula Mae (Raney) Hearld.

Jena was a spirited soul with a love for life that was as infectious as her smile. Always on the move and socializing, she became known as "Mom" to the neighborhood kids, welcoming everyone warmly into her home. Known for her quick wit and humor, she had a knack for making everyone laugh, and she affectionately gave everyone their own unique nickname. Her generosity was unmatched; she was always willing to help others, often putting their needs before her own. Jena's family and friends returned this love and care, finding joy in spoiling her as she had spoiled them.

She was incredibly creative, enjoying activities like Diamond Art and intricate puzzles. She cherished her time with friends, frequently attending "painting with a twist" outings. Her love for animals was a constant in her life, leading her to work at a veterinary office where she often took in animals in need of a loving home.

Jena married the love of her life, William Marek, on November 7, 1981, in Pontiac, Michigan. Together, they created a beautiful life, raising four children. Jena and William enjoyed traveling to Arkansas, camping, frequenting bingo halls, and spending as much time with loved ones as possible. Her family and faith were the cornerstones of her life, providing her endless joy and fulfillment.

She is survived by her devoted husband, William Marek; her children, Beth Reinhardt, Amy Reinhardt, William Marek, Jr., and Jessica (Tyg) Worden; siblings, Patsy Riley, Donna Davy, Edward Hearld, and Jackie Hearld; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lula Mae Hearld, and two cherished grandchildren, Austin Reinhardt and Ashleigh Baumgardner.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Coats Funeral Home, 3141 Sashabaw Rd., Waterford, MI 48329, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service following at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jena’s honor to the Detroit Animal Rescue, celebrating her lifelong love for animals.
