Janet Laura Poff "Jan"

Janet Laura Poff “Jan” (née Stawinski) passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Jan is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, John; her children, John, Jessica, and Stephanie; ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Above all else, Jan loved her family and valued her close friendships. Jan was supportive of her husband John’s Navy service and encouraged him to complete his college education before starting their family.

Jan cherished her grandchildren and made a point to spend time with them, always finding the exact way to bond with each and every one of them. She enjoyed gardening, reading, being creative, and crafted many quilts for those she loved. After Parkinson’s limited her ability to continue quilting, she turned to several other crafts including making glass gem suncatchers, button art, and watercolor paintings.

She was loved deeply by those whose lives she touched and we were blessed to have her in our lives. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 1 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON. Family will receive friends Tuesday 11 AM until time of service. Private burial will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.  In lieu of flowers please donate in Jan’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
