PIPER, JAMES P. of Henderson, KY, formerly of Waterford, MI. Born in Central City, KY, the Lord called him home on September 24, 2024 at 92 years of age. Loving husband of the late Katherine “Jean” (née Zimmerman) Piper for 53 years; dear father of David Piper, Mary Ann Bryan (Doug), Chris (Kathy) Piper, and Susan Coffey; grandfather of Rachel (Connor) and Sarah; preceded in death by his parents, John and Annie (née Miller) Piper, brother John Piper, Jr., and step brother Conrad Jones, and step sister Geraldine Childers; husband of the late Elda “Ree” Piper for 8 years and her children, Steve, Sheree, Sandra “Jo” and the late Scott. Jim retired from GM Truck & Bus as a supervisor in 1987 after 37 years of dedicated service. A real family man who adored his family and his precious Kentucky Wildcats Basketball. He enjoyed keeping his yard in pristine condition as well as his cars, and playing guitar in church. He will be forever loved and missed, but he is now with the Lord and reunited with the ones he loved. Funeral service will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 at 11 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Burial follows at All Saints Cemetery, Waterford. Family will receive friends Sunday 4-8 PM.
