James Patrick McDermott

James Patrick McDermott, age 91 passed away on September 16, 2024, at his home in Clarkston, Michigan. James was born on August 10th, 1933, in Pontiac Michigan to the late Charles and Viola McDermott and brother to Charles McDermott and Carol (Dan) Silvas.

James was a handyman and a jack of all trades; he loved to work on cars, woodworking, fishing, hunting, and gardening. His biggest love was that of his family. Husband of 64 years to the late MarthaSue McDermott. Father of Michael (Myra Lynne) McDermott, Debbi (Dan) Popma, Ronald McDermott, John (Patricia) McDermott, Sheila (Brad) Collins, Julie Anne McDermott, and Bethann (Bruce) Grundei along with 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at 1 PM at Coats Funeral Home WATERFORD (3141 Sashabaw). Family will receive guests from 11-1 PM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
