Jacqueline A. “Jacqui” Walton (née Dear), of Clarkston, passed away April 16, 2026, at the age of 70.
Jacqui was the loving and devoted wife of Jerry Walton "Paga"; cherished mother of Chris (Cristy) Daniel and Ryan Daniel; proud grandmother of John (Gabie), Shawn, Dustin (Jess), and Kaleb; and great-grandmother of Ryleigh, Piper, and Axel. Also survived by her kindred sister in spirit and second mother to her beloved boys, Fay Meisel.
She was born in Dearborn Heights to the late John A. and Irene (née Loar) Dear.
Jacqui dedicated over 40 years of her life to nursing, working as an LPN at Botsford Hospital before continuing her compassionate care in hospice, nursing homes, and skilled care facilities. Her commitment to others defined her career and left a lasting impact on countless families.
Outside of her work, Jacqui lived life with enthusiasm and humor. She loved traveling each spring through Michigan’s thumb area, stopping at every garage sale she could find between here and Caseville. A passionate animal lover, she was deeply involved with the Bassett Hound Rescue League and at one point opened her home to 15 basset hounds. She never missed a Bassett Hound Parade and treasured every moment spent with her beloved dogs.
Jacqui also became known as the “queen of Beanie Babies,” traveling across Michigan and neighboring states, with her dear Fay in tow, in search of the next great find, always hopeful for that big resale success. Though she and her family often recognized that cooking wasn’t her strength, her sweet and sour chicken was unmatched by anyone who tasted it.
She will be remembered for her boundless sense of humor—sometimes a little twisted, but always bringing laughter—and for the quiet moments she enjoyed playing games on her tablet or phone.
Above all, Jacqui was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and presence will be deeply missed.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 1 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON, 8909 Dixie Highway. Family will receive friends 11 AM until time of service.
