Irene Helen Morin, born on July 19, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on January 31, 2026, in Katy, Texas. Irene’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, music, and a passion for mentorship and travel. She dedicated herself to her family, leaving behind three devoted children: Cynthia (Paul) Richter, Christopher (Judy) Morin, and Timothy (Barbara) Morin. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan, Joanne, Daniel, Steven, Bryan, David, Kathryn and Patrick, along with eleven great-grandchildren who will remember her warmth and compassion. Throughout her extraordinary life, Irene was not only an avid church mentor, but also a talented musician who played the flute in the Kalamazoo Michigan Symphony. Irene's love for music flourished when she got a Nazareth Alumni scholarship for playing her flute. The songs she played on the hammer dulcimer, penny whistles and the recorder resonated deeply with all who knew her, and her encouraging spirit inspired many in her community. She lived in Texas until the age of 94, where she embraced life with vitality, including enjoying cruises, cultivating her love for reading and making her final trip to Veresegyhaz, Hungary with pilgrimage, where she found her father's home after he fled Germany in WWI. Irene was preceded in death by her brother, Lieutenant Colonel Robert (Nancy) Tittenhofer, her sister, Marilyn T. Yuran, and her beloved daughter, Kathleen Patricia James, along with her son-in-law, Larry James. Each of these individuals held a special place in her heart, and their memories will forever be cherished by those she leaves behind. The family invites all who knew Irene to celebrate her remarkable life. A visitation will be held in her honor at COATS FUNERAL HOME - WATERFORD on Monday, February 9, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Rosary Service at 11:00 AM. Irene Helen Morin will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her musical talents, and her passion for life. Her spirit will live on in the stories shared by her loved ones and in the hearts of all who were touched by her grace.
