Helen Lang Obituary

Helen D. Lang (née Regan) passed peacefully into eternal life on October 15, 2025, at 99 years old after months in Hospice.

Helen was born in Dodgeville, Wisconsin to Philip and Ellen Regan.  During her childhood, Helen’s family moved many times. She graduated from Laport High School in Laport, Indiana. She also studied at The University of St. Francis in Joliet, Il.

Helen married Robert E. Lang in 1949 at Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, MI. The couple was married for 57 years and together they raised seven children. Helen was a “stay-at-home mom” for years before joining the workforce at J.C. Penney and later as an Office Manager for a Chiropractor.

Helen enjoyed entertaining, working in her garden, reading and traveling. She loved gathering with her large family which was most important to her.   

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and her brother, Don. She is survived by her children, Jim (Beth) Lang, Sue (Clint) Bigelow, Tom (Lori) Lang, Pete (Ada) Lang, Mary (Ron) Russ, Ann (Steve) Chinn and Theresa (Mike) Tetrick. She was also blessed with and survived by her 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren (with #22 on the way).

A Catholic Mass and Celebration of Life will be held (date & location TBD) when her large family can gather to honor her. Helen’s wishes are to be cremated and buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery with her husband and parents. A Celebration Of Life will be honored during mass on June 5, 2026 at 10 AM at Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, 2100 W. 12 Mile Road, Royal Oak, MI 48073.
