KENNEDY, GILIAN E., of Royal Oak, passed away on October 8, 2025, at just 24 years old—a bright light gone far too soon, but one that left warmth, joy, and beauty wherever she went. Gilian was the beloved daughter of John and Julie (née Haener) Kennedy; cherished sister of Brooke Kennedy, John Kennedy, Jr., and Emily Giampa; and a devoted aunt to Edward and Nolan. She was the treasured granddaughter of Barbara Kennedy, and is reunited in peace with her grandparents Stephen Kennedy, and Sandra and Richard Haener. Her gentle spirit was matched only by her boundless love—for her family, her friends, and especially her adored cats, Blue and Dream, who were never far from her side. Gilian had a heart for animals and a creative soul. She found joy in the little things: a new eyeshadow palette, a perfect cupcake, a hand-crafted gift made with care. Her love of baking, crafting, and all things beauty lit up holidays, family gatherings, and everyday life. A 2019 graduate of Lake Orion High School, Gilian found purpose and joy working with children as an assistant at The Goddard School of Beverly Hills, where her nurturing presence and quiet strength made her a favorite among students and staff alike. She loved weekend getaways up north at Torch Lake and sunshine-filled escapes to Florida—but no matter where she went, Gilian made others feel at home. Her kindness—constant. Gilian’s life will be celebrated Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Family will receive friends Thursday 4-8 PM. She was deeply loved. She will be deeply missed.
