Gerald "Jerry" Bruce Blodgett

Gerald “Jerry” Bruce Blodgett, age 90, of Clarkston, passed away on April 17, 2026.

Jerry was born on December 27, 1935, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Frederick and Dorothy Blodgett. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Jerry carried a deep sense of patriotism throughout his life. He found great joy in seeing his grandson follow in his footsteps by serving in the military, a legacy that meant a great deal to him.

Jerry was a man of strong faith and community. He was deeply involved with Williams Lake Church of the Nazarene, where he participated in church life and shared his love of music through choir. His faith and fellowship were central to who he was.

He had a passion for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting. In his daily routine, Jerry could always be found at Mel’s Grill each morning, where he cherished good food, familiar faces, and friendly conversation.

Above all, Jerry was devoted to his family. He shared 62 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Yvonne, who preceded him in death. Their life together was a testament to enduring love and commitment.

Jerry is survived by his loving son, Scott (Kristi) Blodgett; his cherished grandchildren, Staci (Orin), Jacob, Nicholas, Deanna, Connor, Nichole, and Kaitlyn; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Declan, Abby, Sophia, Savannah, Lily, and Dawson.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yvonne; his sons, Jeffrey (the late Cynthia) Blodgett and Dennis Blodgett; and his five siblings.

Jerry will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to family, his service to his country, and the simple joys he found in everyday life. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Williams Lake Church of the Nazarene, 2840 Airport Road, Waterford, MI with the memorial service following at 11:00 AM.
