Garry William Davis

DAVIS, GARRY W. of Pontiac, went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2024 at 78 years of age. Loving husband of Carolyn (née Hobgood) for 38 years; cherished father of Barbara (Brian) Kelsey, Chris (Linda) Sampson, Scott (Yolanda) Davis, Steven Davis, Michael Davis, the late Jeff Sampson, and the late Victor Sampson; grandfather of 11; great grandfather of 20; brother of Richard (the late Ruth Ann) Sipes, Bonnie (Dennis) Wagner, the late John (Joanne) Sipes, the late Darwin Sipes, and the late Judy Collins. Garry was a veteran of the US Army – Vietnam and was the general manager of Warehouse Tire in Pontiac and Waterford for over 30 years. His greatest life’s work was serving as pastor of his beloved church, United Faith General Baptist Church in Pontiac for 24 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, traveling, football, and of course, those Detroit Lions. He had a great sense of humor with a soft heart and loved being a foster parent for many years, always wanting to adopt all of them. A man who will never be replaced, Garry will be so dearly missed for the love he gave to his family and his church family. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 1 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON, 8909 Dixie Hwy. Family will receive friends 12 noon until time of service. Burial at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
