Garnet M. Bowden, of Bloomington, Indiana, formerly of Michigan, passed peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the age of 72.
Beloved wife of Kirt Bowden for 48 years. Loving mother of Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Bowden and Katie (John) Stein. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Christopher, and Jacob Stein, and Emily Ann and Henry Bowden. Dear sister of William "Bill" (Maria) Palace, Steven (Gail) Palace, and Barbara (Jim) Halterman. Loving daughter of Linda Palace and the late William Palace.
Garnet graduated from Clarkston High School with the Class of 1972 before earning her Bachelor's Degree from Walsh College. She enjoyed a successful career in accounting and served as Vice President of a logistics company for more than 35 years. Garnet was admired for her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic throughout her career.
Outside of work, Garnet embraced life to the fullest. She loved spending time on the golf course, traveling to new places, taking motorcycle trips, attending concerts, and creating lasting memories with her family and many friends. Her greatest joy, however, was the time she spent with those she loved. She will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Garnet's legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Mrs. Bowden will lie in state at Community Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
